Silently–
Listen closely,
Differently–
What do you hear?
Pause–
Be open–
Allow momentary glimpses–
Here,
Hear from the heart;
Who do you hear?
The true self–
Breathe a soft invitation;
Surrender to spacious solitude;
Be with one’s self–
Be one’s self–
Oh, so gently.

About ivonprefontaine
I have been an educator for almost 20 years. Prior to that, I worked in private industry for 15 years, then returned to university to earn my education degree. For the past 11 years, I have been a co-creator of learning in a unique, progressive, alternative educational school of choice. Currently, I am engaged in a doctoral program at Gonzaga University in Spokane. A main theme in my learning there has been the roles of systems thinking, complexity theory, and organizational theory, and how they apply to education generally and the learning environment I share with students, parents, and colleagues.
Just being quiet long enough to read this makes me slow down and breathe differently.
I did too as I wrote. I find it is an important feeling in writing.
Lovely. Take time to pause, breathe, float.
I love the new word, “float”. That would be the feeling one has when they pause and breathe. They would just float.
It’s really a lovely poem…love it.
Stay blesssed,
mei
