It has been a few years since I snowshoed, but it brings being outside during an Alberta winter to life. It does make for a perfect day.

Winter Haiku in Black & White by Bette A. Stevens
Just a thought: Peace may live in many places, though the best being when it lives in our hearts. – George-B.
This is a wonderful quote from George. Love from the heart is pure love. From the heart, we can give it without asking for anything in return. It is letting go in a passive way.
CAFE CLOSED
We find ourselves in those quiet, still moments. Paradoxically, we lose ourselves there, as well.
How wonderful
It is wonderful when we can begin to make the world a better place without any encouragement and that the actions are their own rewards.
my cats
We don’t own a cat. We did once and she was special. I think Charles Bukowski gets it right that when we have a pet they are our teachers. I always tell people who cat really owned us. We have opportunities to learn from whatever appears in our world and space. When we stop and sense closely, deeply, it is a learning experience that sometimes only reveals itself much later.
I know. I know.
they are limited, have different
needs and
concerns.
but I watch and learn from them.
I like the little they know,
which is so
much.
they complain but never
worry,
they walk with a surprising dignity.
they sleep with a direct simplicity that
humans just can’t
understand.
their eyes are more
beautiful than our eyes.
and they can sleep 20 hours
a day
without
hesitation or
remorse.
when I am feeling
low
all I have to do is
watch my cats
and my
courage
returns.
I study these
creatures.
they are my
teachers.
A Secret Order
For chaos to exist, there must be order. The two exist not separately but with each other sharing the best of what each offers.
Art is never finished
The picture and quote are lovely. They reminded me that art and living are expressions which are never completed. We are always expressing our self anew just as wonderful artists express themselves and their work anew.
Skeleton Shadows (Tanka)
Perhaps, much of life is moving through shadows and thinking they are more concrete than they really are. It is only when we strip the trees and forests do we experience their essence and ours.
