This poem appeared in my reader a couple of days ago and fit well with the whole idea of mystery of life. Life, as an unplanned adventure, brings a sense of joyful apprehension to each of us.

In keeping with bell hooks and Noam Chomsky, I consider myself a public and dissident intellectual. Part of my work is to move beyond (transcend) institutional dogmas that bind me to defend freedom, raising my voice to be heard on behalf of those who seek equity and justice in all their forms. I completed my PhD in Philosophy of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA. My dissertation and research was how teachers experience becoming teachers and their role as leaders. I focus on leading, communicating, and innovating in organizations. This includes mindfuful servant-leadership, World Cafe events, Appreciative Inquiry, and expressing one's self through creativity. I offer retreats, workshops, and presentations that can be tailored to your organzations specific needs. I published peer reviewed articles about schools as learning organizations, currere as an ethical pursuit, and hope as an essential element of adult eductaion. I published three poems and am currently preparing my poetry to publish as an anthology of poetry. I present on mindful leadership, servant leadership, schools as learning organizations, how teachers experience becoming teachers, assessement, and critical thinking. I facilitate mindfulness, hospitality retreats. and World Cafe Events using Appreciative Inquiry. I am writing and researching about various forms of leadership, how teachers inform and form their identity as a particular teacher, schools as learning organizations, hope, nonviolence and its anticipatory relationship with the future, as essential elements to teaching and learning. Teacher as Transformer 
I love the mystery too, the mystery of what is around the corner for us? That’s why I don’t like to plan what I want, I like surprises and the surprises that come are sometimes better than I could have ever imagined. What do you think?
I agree that the surprises are sometimes much richer than the planned. I only need to be aware of the opportunities by keeping eyes, ears, mind, and heart open.
Yes, they are all around us. Sometimes not big, but soft, so awareness is key.
Unplanned adventures are great, but beware of the lions and bears.

I’ve always been very interested in the “life path,” but now that I’ve read this, I’m looking at it in a new way. “Path” suggests a straight, even line, but life isn’t really like that at all, is it? Great poem.

Great and Beautiful poem
, Life isn’t simple. Our lives are constantly changing, often to the good, and sometimes our perceptions of change challenge us, and make us feel bereft. In such situations, it’s difficult to keep on that path of self-knowledge and self-actualization.
Lvsrao, you are so right. It is our response to change and not change that is difficult to handle. I am learning to take a deep breath sometimes.
