About ivonprefontaine
In keeping with bell hooks and Noam Chomsky, I consider myself a public and dissident intellectual. Part of my work is to move beyond (transcend) institutional dogmas that bind me to defend freedom, raising my voice to be heard on behalf of those who seek equity and justice in all their forms.
I completed my PhD in Philosophy of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA. My dissertation and research was how teachers experience becoming teachers and their role as leaders.
I focus on leading, communicating, and innovating in organizations. This includes mindfuful servant-leadership, World Cafe events, Appreciative Inquiry, and expressing one's self through creativity. I offer retreats, workshops, and presentations that can be tailored to your organzations specific needs.
I published peer reviewed articles about schools as learning organizations, currere as an ethical pursuit, and hope as an essential element of adult eductaion. I published three poems and am currently preparing my poetry to publish as an anthology of poetry.
I present on mindful leadership, servant leadership, schools as learning organizations, how teachers experience becoming teachers, assessement, and critical thinking. I facilitate mindfulness, hospitality retreats. and World Cafe Events using Appreciative Inquiry.
I am writing and researching about various forms of leadership, how teachers inform and form their identity as a particular teacher, schools as learning organizations, hope, nonviolence and its anticipatory relationship with the future, as essential elements to teaching and learning.

My dear Ivon, Thank you so much for reblogging my post. I am deeply grateful for your continued support. I want you to know that, as happened the last time you reblogged my post, I had just been wondering whether I should keep going with this blogging adventure, which I absolutely love, but still often question. So, your kindness is even more appreciated. How lovely to learn that you are a tea drinker, as well. There is something magical about tea–I sometimes feel my omnipresent cup is a friend or even an extension of my body :). The ritual of boiling the water, letting the tea steep, taking that first heavenly sip…ahhhh. Here’s hoping your cup is full of comfort and inspiration.
I am glad I could help. When I came across the post, I was reminded of Thich Nhat Nanh. He spoke the same way about the ritual of making, drinking, and savouring the tea. Thank you for your continued support. It is equally appreciated.
Tea is zen !!
It is. When I saw this post, I was reminded of Thich Nhat Hanh’s advice about savouring and enjoying the tea.
What not about Coffee?
Unless you take the other how do you judge that alone.
Of course when we used to one naturally that only gives that calmness.
Whatever it is all, the composition of this post is enlightened..
Ivon, sir:;; your feeling is well worded as usual.
Thank you Lvsrao. I used to drink coffee and found that tea better suited me. It was a matter of choice as opposed to not trying.
lovely post ivon!
Thank you.
